Urban Jermann is an economist. He is the Safra Professor of International Finance and Capital Markets in the Finance Department at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. His research interests span international finance, asset pricing, crypto/tokenomics, macrofinance, and financial markets. He teaches courses on international financial markets to undergraduate and graduate students.
Jermann holds a Ph.D. from the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, Switzerland. He is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He has been a Co-Editor of the Journal of Finance, an Editor of the Journal of Monetary Economics, and a Senior Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis.
